Edward Bulwer-Lytton (1803—1873) was an English novelist, poet, playwright and politician. A lot of his works contributed to the early growth of the science fiction genre. "Kenelm Chillingly" is one of Bulwer's most popular novels of English life. Kenelm is the long-desired heir of an old family, who leaves home in search of adventures as an unknown pedestrian with a few pounds in his pocket, but he does not expect, that adventures will change him cardinally.
